Today I thought I would try and make up for not making a post yesterday, and of course all the days I missed making posts :(
I.E. I have a lot of making up to do, so I am going to start with what any girl would need for a great Sunday! Wither its afternoon clothing or a grand evening gown or swim wear, and lets not forget all the fun little accessories like hats/shoes and lets not forget Jewelery! Yay! :) So lets get started! :)

This is so the quintessential 1910's lace afternoon dress, every lady back in the 1910's had a lace linen or muslin dress like this and you could always jazz it up a bit more with silk ribbon sashes like this dress has, the thing I love so much about dresses like this is the lace number one the fine lace, number two the fine airy material which is so wonderful cause I m talking about super soft super comfortable and best part you look great in a gown like this! Now this grand gown is from around 1912-15 and yep you guessed it I want it! :)

Awesome black wool net bathing suit, now I have to admit I really love old bathing suits I would love to have this one and wear it swimming its just got that kind of elegant look to it if you ask me, and I m really sick to death of these super bikinis that show off everything! What ever happened to swim suits looking good and having style to them instead of lets show off everything.

Wonderful white corset from around 1910-13 this corset is just perfect, in the 1910's you see the waist of corsets getting longer it was a way to make the stomach absolutely flat you know, and it really helped with either long waisted gowns or hobble skirts.

  1. Just Beautiful!!! I love the use of beadwork during this era. And, I'm with you on the bathing suits. What happened to appreciating a woman's silhouette and leaving a bit to the imagination. Oh well.

I would love to post your photos. You have a wonderful eye. If you send me a "post comment" with your email, I will not post it but will email you so that you can send them to me.

I know I always say this but I really LOVE your blog.

  2. Thank you I am so glad you liked it, I love this time period too of course to me I really love everything from the middle ages to the late 1950's I just love gorgeous gowns and I love wearing these gowns too, one of my favorite silk dress is a 1912 pink silk with beige lace and glass pearl beads its sooo pretty and I love wearing it :) I also love trying to make things that are like that but I m better beading than sewing it so I get something that has the look and then bead away heehee, I tried making a bustle dress for a Robert Tonner doll of Kirsten Dunst I m making the blue silk bustle dress from “Interview with a Vampire” And its taking me hours and hours all for a 16 inch doll heehee, but it really makes me appreciate the work these men and women did back in the past especially the hand sewn stuff, ah but I get side tracked again! But I m glad you liked the post and let me know when you finish your 20's dress I would love to see it :) I absolutely love 20's clothing I have three reproduction dresses and two antique ones and one I made myself and two I want to make so IE I love 20's fashion its just so elegant and lovely and comfy too! :)
