Today I thought I would try and make up for not making a post yesterday, and of course all the days I missed making posts :(
I.E. I have a lot of making up to do, so I am going to start with what any girl would need for a great Sunday! Wither its afternoon clothing or a grand evening gown or swim wear, and lets not forget all the fun little accessories like hats/shoes and lets not forget Jewelery! Yay! :) So lets get started! :)
A photo of a real beauty of the day, I love these hand colored photo's its always seems to have such a warm glow about it you know, this great photo is from around 1910-12 and I love how her hair is done and the green silk ribbon, of course in the 1910's we see a lot of gorgeous hair dos, I know one of these days I m going to have to try that with my hair :)
This is so the quintessential 1910's lace afternoon dress, every lady back in the 1910's had a lace linen or muslin dress like this and you could always jazz it up a bit more with silk ribbon sashes like this dress has, the thing I love so much about dresses like this is the lace number one the fine lace, number two the fine airy material which is so wonderful cause I m talking about super soft super comfortable and best part you look great in a gown like this! Now this grand gown is from around 1912-15 and yep you guessed it I want it! :)
Awesome black velvet hat with pink silk ribbon and flowers this great hat would be perfect for any afternoon if you ask me, hat is from around 1914-16 and yep I want it! :)
Awesome black velvet purse with silver platted purse clasp and lots of beading this great purse is from around 1915-17.
Wonderful fashion print of hats from 1911 these hats are just awesome if you ask me, now this prit is from a fashion magazine and by now it is in what we consider magazines now, not like in the past where it was more book format.
Awesome awesome black velvet and black silk chiffon and all so much lace and I love the hand cut jet black glass beads at the sleeves its just perfect this great gown is from around 1910-12 and you better believe I want it! :)
Awesome black wool net bathing suit, now I have to admit I really love old bathing suits I would love to have this one and wear it swimming its just got that kind of elegant look to it if you ask me, and I m really sick to death of these super bikinis that show off everything! What ever happened to swim suits looking good and having style to them instead of lets show off everything.
Awesome one piece undergarment this is so pretty its almost too pretty to wear under a dress! This awesome one piece is from around 1910-13.
Wonderful white corset from around 1910-13 this corset is just perfect, in the 1910's you see the waist of corsets getting longer it was a way to make the stomach absolutely flat you know, and it really helped with either long waisted gowns or hobble skirts.
Gorgeous gorgeous incredible black lace and hand cut jet glass beads and lots of sequins this dress is just so awesome imagine having this dress and making your grand entrance in it, and I do mean your grand entrance! I could also see Rose from the movie Titanic owning and wearing this great dress! And this dress is from exactly 1912 and you better believe I want this dress! I just can't seem to say enough good things about this absolutely fabulous dress.
Awesome platinum and diamond and emerald ring this ring is just grand and yep I want it!
God I wish I owned this grand 1910-15 platinum and diamond and ruby necklace this necklace is grand and beautiful and if I had 8 grand I would make this mine! But even though I don't I can still enjoy the pictures and share them with you and we can all go ahhhhh I so want this together.
Well this does it for today I hope I made up for not posting yesterday.

Just Beautiful!!! I love the use of beadwork during this era. And, I'm with you on the bathing suits. What happened to appreciating a woman's silhouette and leaving a bit to the imagination. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI would love to post your photos. You have a wonderful eye. If you send me a "post comment" with your email, I will not post it but will email you so that you can send them to me.
I know I always say this but I really LOVE your blog.
Thank you I am so glad you liked it, I love this time period too of course to me I really love everything from the middle ages to the late 1950's I just love gorgeous gowns and I love wearing these gowns too, one of my favorite silk dress is a 1912 pink silk with beige lace and glass pearl beads its sooo pretty and I love wearing it :) I also love trying to make things that are like that but I m better beading than sewing it so I get something that has the look and then bead away heehee, I tried making a bustle dress for a Robert Tonner doll of Kirsten Dunst I m making the blue silk bustle dress from “Interview with a Vampire” And its taking me hours and hours all for a 16 inch doll heehee, but it really makes me appreciate the work these men and women did back in the past especially the hand sewn stuff, ah but I get side tracked again! But I m glad you liked the post and let me know when you finish your 20's dress I would love to see it :) I absolutely love 20's clothing I have three reproduction dresses and two antique ones and one I made myself and two I want to make so IE I love 20's fashion its just so elegant and lovely and comfy too! :)
